Fall Fire

Patience

Looking for Gold

Christmas Sunrise

While packing presents in the car this past Christmas, I noticed this amazing sunrise. So, I grabbed the camera and tripod, and headed down to the dock. There was almost no processing done on this shot. There was fog rolling across the ice, so some of the lack of sharpness is a result of that, and not entirely my lack of skill.

Women Are Persons

The 365 Days He's Not in the Sleigh

I don't have much experience with candids, but I couldn't resist when I saw this gentleman on a trip to Ottawa.

Coming in for a Landing

Basking

I'm not usually one for gratuitous cat photos, but there's something about this one I really liked.

The Big Day

I'm not sure of the artistic merits of this one, but it has sentimental value. This was taken from my living room window on the morning of the birth of my second daughter.

Grand Central

A time lapse shot, which explains the relatively small number of people.

Fireball

An amazing sunset. I couldn't believe how much it looked like a forest fire.

Winter Moon

This was taken from my front yard on a day in the spring when the high was -15 degrees F.

The Dying Day

Library

The library at the Canadian Parliament.

Parliament at Night

This is the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa. The shot is not nearly as neat as I'd like, but it was taken through a hotel window, so there was a bit of a glare, even with all the lights off. I wanted to open the window for the shot, but my wife (for some inexplicable reason) didn't think taking time lapse photos with a window open in December would be a good idea.

Night Performance

Falls

A very slight time lapse, and passed through a filter to soften things up a bit.

Relaxing

The title says it all.

Hanging Out

A flying fox enjoying the sun.

Crisp

A capital from the New York Court of Appeals.

Stoic

A detail from the main staircase into the New York State Capitol in Albany.

Smooth

Taken at the Municipal Building in Saranac Lake.

The Drive to Work

Another from my old blog, this one was taken last November at about 6:45 AM.

Sunset

A view from my front yard.

Giving it another shot.

After a long break from this site, during which I had a blog I paid for, I thought I'd come back and give this one another shot. I'll be moving some of my favorites from the old site to this one.
